How to Make a Clock Face With Photos
Stamp your personality on a wall clock by personalizing the clock face with photographs that you select. Such items can add a personal touch to any office space, with reminders of family and friends. - Plastic clock
- Screwdriver
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Photographs
- Glue
- Paper towels

Buy the clock that you want to convert. Clocks are cheaply available at many discount stores and low-cost outlets.

Unpack the clock and remove the batteries. Put the clock with its face upward on a wad of paper towels.

Detach the faceplate gently from the clock without any scratches or damage. The best way to do this is to apply pressure with the screwdriver through a paper towel on the tabs that will release the faceplate.

Detach the hands from the clock and put them aside carefully. The hands are generally placed on a rod and held in place with a screw. The order of placement is normally hour hand at the bottom with the minute hand just on top and finally, the second hand.

Custom clocks can be personalized with paint, photos, buttons and beads to make unique gifts. Remove the face that is currently on the clock. Trace the outline of the face onto a card and then cut out and trim the outline so that it fits the clock. Remember to create several cardboard shapes to provide you with a range of clock faces.

Put the clock numbers on the clock face. You should keep in mind that the fewer the numbers that you use, the better the visibility of your photographs. For instance, you could just use 3, 6, 9 and 12.

Choose the photographs that you will use to decorate the face of the clock. Ensure that when you have finished attaching the photographs, the surface is absolutely flat. Use the glue and the scissors to mount the photographs on the face.

Place the card face over the original face and mark the point to insert the rod for the hands.

Make a hole at the point you have marked, so that the rod can come through.

Glue the card face with the rod protruding from the original face so that it is completely aligned.

Replace the hands in the original order in which they were placed and then fix them in place with the screw.

Replace the faceplate and the batteries. The clock is now ready.

Tips & Warnings
You should remember that at certain positions, the hands could block a part of the face.
