Instructions

    • 1

Pay your ticket before the date it is due. Keep it in a safe place until you are able to make payment, as this will help you when entering the citation number either online to make payment or on a check.

    • 2

Sign on to your local or state DMV site to be sure you can pay your violation online, through the mail or in person. Payment methods should be located on your ticket; however you can contact the traffic court or state office to inquire.

    • 3

Enter your ticket/citation number, a valid credit card and a working email address if you wish to pay online. Make sure to print a receipt for your records.

    • 4

Visit your local DMV office if you wish to pay in person. Be sure to bring a valid credit card, check or cash. Also, make sure you bring your ticket, identification and any other documentation required or referenced in the citation.

    • 5

Pay by mail using a check, endorsing it to either the county court or the Clerk of County Court. Depending on the state or area you received the ticket, the individual you endorse it to may vary; however, it should be listed on your ticket.

Write the ticket number on the check.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember it is important to pay your ticket on time. Even if it is a parking ticket, it may still count against your driving record and if left unpaid could result in loss of your license.
