Stainless steel provides a shiny and durable surface when used in the construction of appliances. Paint that accidentally gets onto stainless steel does not have to be tolerated -- it can be removed without causing damage such as scratches. Some basic supplies from a hardware store or paint supply shop will be needed, as will some supplies commonly found around the house.
Step 1
Apply turpentine to a corner of a clean, soft cloth. Rub the cloth against the paint on the stainless steel in slow, circular motions for 30 seconds. Remove the cloth, and inspect the stainless steel. If the paint has not started dissolving, repeat the procedure with additional turpentine on another clean corner of the cloth.

Step 2
Rinse the turpentine area with room temperature water.
Step 3
Wipe the area where the turpentine was applied with a soft, dry cloth.
Step 4
Apply scratch-free household sink bleach to a water-moistened cloth. Rub the cloth against the area where the paint was in slow, circular motions for 30 seconds. Rinse the bleach off the stainless steel with room temperature water. Let the stainless steel air-dry.
