How to Find a Family on an American Airlines Flight

American Airlines is an airline headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Because of security and privacy concerns, American Airlines will not disclose information about what flight a person or family is traveling on. However, if you know what flight a family is on, you can use American Airlines' online flight status tool to find detailed tracking information about the specific flight. Flight status information includes the exact time of departure or estimated time of departure, current flight status and estimated time of arrival at the destination city.

Instructions

1. Open a web browser on your computer and go to the American Airlines website (see Resources).

2. Select the "Flight Status" tab from the top of the American Airlines website.

3. Enter the family's flight number in the appropriate text box. If you don't know the flight number, you can enter the departure and destination cities and select the flight date and approximate flight time from the drop-down menus.

4. Click the red "Go" button to display detailed tracking information about the family's flight.
