How to Make Cheese Filled Manicotti thumbnail
Cheese-filled manicotti can be made in about an hour.

Cheese-filled manicotti is a traditional Italian entree dish. Rich, creamy ricotta cheese is combined with manicotti noodles and delicious marinara sauce to create a filling dish for entertaining or everyday dinners. While a little preparation is needed for this dish, it can be ready to serve from kitchen to table in about an hour. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Things You'll Need

  • 13-inch x 9-inch baking dish
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 8 oz. package of manicotti noodles
  • 15 oz. container of ricotta cheese
  • One egg
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 16 oz. package of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups of marinara sauce

Instructions

    • 1

      Add noodles to stock pot and enough water to cover them. Bring water to a boil and continue to cook for 15 minutes. Remove pasta, drain and rinse with cold water. Set the noodles aside for use later.

      Mix together ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg and Italian spices. Prepare baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

      Divide cheese mixture evenly between manicotti shells. Fill each shell with cheese mixture and place in baking dish. Pour marinara sauce evenly over stuffed shells and spread shredded mozzarella on top of dish.

      Bake stuffed shells for 45 minutes in 350 degree oven.

Tips & Warnings

  • A pound of ground beef, ground turkey or Italian sausage can also be added to the marinara sauce.
