How to Submit a Press Release to Google

How to Submit a Press Release to Google thumbnail
Submit your press release to Google once you're an approved Google News provider.

Press releases submitted to Google are displayed on Google News, so before you submit a press release, you must be a Google News provider. To become a Google News provider, you'll have to answer a few questions about your content and submit an online form that lists items like your contact information and the URL to your press release. Remember, however, that Google reserves the right to include whatever news it chooses, so just because your press release qualifies does not mean that it will be published on Google News.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to news.google.com, navigate to the very bottom of the web page and click on "Help." You'll be taken to the Google News help page. Once there, click "Suggest news content," located under "Email Us."

    • 2

Answer the questions that appear on the next page by indicating "yes" or "no." These questions regard the content of your press release and stipulate that Google News only considers the inclusion of a website, a mobile site or a YouTube video channel. If your press release does not appear in one of these formats, it will not be considered for publication in Google News.

    • 3

Fill in all of the information that is asked of you after you've answered the necessary questions. You'll be asked for your location, general contact information and the URL of your press release. Remember to check off "Press release" where you inserted the URL. Click "Submit" at the bottom of the form once you've filled in all of the information.

    • 4

Wait for a Google representative to contact you via email. He or she will let you know whether or not your press release has been approved for Google News.

Tips & Warnings

  • Google News stories only appear for 30 days, so make sure your press release is relevant for the 30 days after you've been approved.
