How to Hang a Poster As Wall Art
Posters are one of the most inexpensive forms of wall art, as they are far less expensive to purchase than paintings, tapestries and decorative screens. Posters are also versatile, as they are available in many different styles and sizes. However, a plain, unframed poster lacks sophistication and durability. Using posters as wall art is very easy to do using poster frames. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Purchase a poster frame that is the same size, or slightly larger than, the poster. Remove the backing from the poster frame. Poster frames typically have bendable tabs to secure cardboard backing--simply lift the tabs and remove the cardboard backing.
-
2
Line the top edge of the poster with the top of the poster frame and roll the poster down so that all of the edges are aligned with the edges of the frame.
-
-
3
Replace the cardboard backing within the frame and fold the metal tabs back down so that the poster is secured within the frame.
-
4
Decide if you want the poster to hang at or above eye level. Locate the hanging tab or wire on the back of the frame. Make a mark on the wall where you will hang the poster.
-
5
Use the hammer to drive the nail into the wall where you made the mark. Hang the poster frame onto the nail. Note that if the poster frame is heavy, it may require wall anchors and screws rather than a single nail. If you use two or more anchor points, be sure they are perfectly aligned so the poster will hang straight.
