How to Backup an Original Nintendo Game
Discs for Nintendo Wii games are expensive. Therefore, you should protect your investment in Wii games by creating backup discs. After you back up a Nintendo game disc, you then store the original and protect it from damage or loss. Backing up an original Nintendo Wii game disc is no different than copying a regular data CD. If you have a PC with a CD or DVD burner, you can create a usable disc copy of a Wii game in minutes.

- CD/DVD burning application
- CD/DVD burner drive
- Blank CD or DVD disc
- Wii disc

Download and install a free CD/DVD burning program. Applications like EASEUS, Express Burn or ImgBurn all allow you make backups of your original Nintendo games discs.

Launch the burning application on your PC. Click the "Disc Copy" or "Burn Copy" option on the application menu or tool bar. Place the original Wii game disc into the optical drive when prompted to insert the disc you want to copy. Wait while the burning program copies the data from the Wii game disc to a temporary folder on your PC.

Insert a blank CD or DVD into the burner drive when prompted to do so. Click the "Burn" or "Write" button or menu option to copy the Wii game disc data to the blank disc.

Wait for the burning application to copy the Wii game data to the blank CD or DVD, then eject the disc. Remove the disc from the CD/DVD burner drive.

Place the new backup disc into the Wii game console disc drive. The Wii loads the game from the backup disc just as would from the original.

Place the original Wii game disc into its protective case and store in a safe location to protect against damage or loss. Create additional copies of the original Wii game disc as needed.
