How to Remove Crayon Stains From Jeans

Washing and drying a pair of jeans with a crayon in the pocket results in a mess. An overzealous child artist can do a number on blue jeans as well. Don't let crayon stains on jeans intimidate you.   • Paper towels
  • Iron

      Use a butter knife to scrape as much crayon as possible from the fabric.

      Turn the garment inside out. Place paper towels both inside and outside the jeans over the stain Set your iron to "cotton" and press the back of the stain. The wax will melt and absorb into the paper. Replace the paper towels or move them frequently and continue until you aren't pulling any more crayon from the fabric.

      Apply a solvent designed to remove waxy substances to the remaining stain. Apply the solvent to both sides of the stain and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Pour 1 tbsp. of heavy-duty liquid laundry detergent over the solvent and work in with a soft brush, such as an old toothbrush. Wash the garment in the hottest appropriate water.
