How to Install a Carburetor in a 1987 Yamaha Warrior
The carburetor on the 1987 Yamaha Warrior is mounted to the frame of the ATV by two rubber tubes. One tube connects to the air intake box and one connects to the engine. A throttle line runs from the throttle to the top of the carburetor, as does a fuel line. The carburetor can be installed in your garage or driveway in about an hour with tools required.

1
Allow the Yamaha Warrior's engine to completely cool before you proceed. Place the carburetor onto the top of the engine. Make sure that the air intake adjustment screw on the bottom right side of the front of the carburetor is facing out. The carburetor is not bolted to the engine. It is suspended by the two rubber tubes that are connected to the engine and the air intake.

2
Grab the end of the throttle cable with needle nose pliers. Connect the hook on the end of the throttle cable to the small ring inside the top of the carburetor.

Place the air intake's rubber tube onto the port on the right side of the carburetor. Ensure that the rubber end of the tube is completely around the metal edge of the port. Tighten the metal securing clamp connected to the intake tube with a screwdriver until it is snug.

Grab the rubber fuel line with needle nose pliers and place it onto the fuel inlet valve. Push down on it until it completely conceals the valve.

Tips & Warnings
Tightening the metal clamp too much will result in the edge of the clamp cutting into the rubber seals on the tube.
