How to Install an Everlast Swivel Speed Bag

Boxers use speed bags to develop quick reaction times and coordination.

Started in 1910 as a swimsuit manufacturer, Everlast has since become synonymous with boxing equipment and manufactures and entire line of punching bags from heavy bags to speed bags. The speed bag -- used to develop reflexes and hand-eye coordination -- is often an air-filled sack hung upside down by a rotating swivel. Installing a speed bag in your home gym is easy and can be done in just a few simple steps.

Things You'll Need

• Pliers
• Air pump
• Flat-head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Remove the locking pin from the base of the swivel and remove the U-bolt. Take out the pin by inserting the ends of the pliers to the link locking clip on the bag attachment. Squeeze the handles of the pliers to remove the clip.

2. Inflate the speed bag using an air pump. Make sure there is enough pressure to properly inflate the bag.

3. Insert the U-bolt into the new swivel speed bag. Make sure the speed bag is well-mounted into the U-bolt.

4. Put the U-bolt into the swivel base. Align the holes of the swivel base against the U-bolt.

5. Lock the pin in place. Insert the pin locking the U-bolt and the swivel base.

Tips & Warnings

• The bag should be positioned at the same height as your head.
