The hours that weddings are performed in the court varies in Maryland.

Maryland requires that individuals be at least 17 years of age before applying for a marriage license. Individuals aged 16 to 17 must have the consent of their parent or guardian or a certificate from a doctor that states a female is pregnant or has given birth to a child. As of January, 2011, Maryland courts no longer employ justices of the peace to perform ceremonies. Ceremonies performed at the court are performed by a judge or clerk of the court.
