How to Change Your SecureDoc Password in Windows Connect
Disk encryption is a method of securing documents that requires individual passwords to be entered before the data can be saved to an external drive or otherwise moved from the disk. Networked computers allow you to access "keyfiles" anywhere on the system through the use of the assigned password. SecureDoc from WinMagic is a program that works with Windows-based computers and computers networked using the Windows Connect program. Should there be a need to change your SecureDoc password in Windows Connect, the process is easy.
Instructions

1
Boot and log on to the networked computer using Windows Connect. This will grant the computer access to the documents saved on the server.
-
2
Open up SecureDoc by clicking "Start," "SecureDoc Disk Encryption" and "SecureDoc Control Panel" or by double-clicking the desktop icon and selecting the "SecureDoc Control Panel" from the options provided. The program may start automatically and open to the Control Panel if the networked computer itself is not encrypted. Alternately, enter "securedoc.exe -a" at the command prompt (the "Run" option on the Start menu) to open the Control Panel.

3
Enter your login name, keyfile name and the login password in the boxes provided. If the full SecureDoc program has not been installed on the computer, choose "Browse," search for the keyfile on the system and follow the prompts to select the keyfile and return to the login screen.

4
Verify that SecureDoc has successfully logged you in and that the keyfile name and location are correct. Click "Change Password" from the list of allowable options in relation to that file. If you don't have password permission, contact your system administrator to have permission set.
-
5
Enter the old password in the following screen that shows the keyfile name. Type the new password twice, and click "OK."

Tips & Warnings
Change your password frequently to prevent anyone from being able to gain access by using a password generator.
Only designated users with administrative privileges can change passwords. Trying to do so without these privileges can result in the computer blocking data from being saved to an external drive.
