How to Use of Mylar for Growing Plants

Indoor plants might not get adequate light, especially in the winter months. According to the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, Mylar sheeting can be used to supplement available light. Mylar is extremely reflective and can direct more sunlight or artificial light to your plants.

Things You'll Need

• Reflective Mylar tape and film

Instructions

1. Line up all your indoor plants and place them in a sunny spot.

2. Cut out a rectangle of Mylar film. Make the rectangle a little taller than your tallest plant and as long as the combined length of your lined-up indoor plants.

3. Place the Mylar film on a wall behind your indoor plants.

4. Tape the film in place with reflective Mylar tape.
