How to Paint a Barbie Doll
Overtime, the coloration on Barbie dolls wears off or fades. This can be fixed by repainting the Barbie doll. Nail polish adheres to the smooth plastic surface. It's thick enough that you can't see the plastic underneath. Paint Barbie's nails, lips, eyes and other features. You can also paint the Barbie doll to add something to it. For example, paint a design on Barbie to give her a tattoo. Once you paint the Barbie doll, it stays on. While it's possible to chip off the nail polish, by doing so you run the risk of scratching the doll.

1
Some nail polish has a shimmer to it, which can add glam to the Barbie doll. Pour a pea-sized amount of nail polish onto a paper plate. Place a dot of each color you want to use on the paper plate.
-
2
The cardboard acts as a protective shield. Place the Barbie doll between two pieces of cardboard. Place the cardboard and the Barbie in a vice so that the doll lays flat. Tighten the vice enough to hold it securely, but not to crack it. Pull the Barbie doll's hair away from its face.

3
Wipe the Barbie doll clean with an alcohol cleaning wipe. Let it dry.
-
4
A small tip offers more control. Dip the tip of the paintbrush into a color of nail polish. Wipe any globs of polish off on the paint. You only need a thin layer. Paint the Barbie doll with the tip, as desired.
-
5
Dip a clean brush into the nail polish remover. Carefully run the wet brush over any errors to remove them.
-
6
Remove the Barbie doll from the vice once it dries.
