How to Mix Cedar Oil Spray for Dogs

Cedar wood oil is used in shampoos, lotions and other body products to help with skin dryness. Cedar also is a natural insect repellent used to keep bugs off clothing and blankets. When a small amount of cedar wood oil is mixed in a spray, it will keep insects away and soften a dog's skin.

Things You'll Need

  • Cedar oil
  • Distilled water
  • Spray bottle
  • Dropper
  • 1 tsp. of distilled spirits such as vodka

Instructions

      Fill the spray bottle with distilled water.

      Add five drops of cedar oil and 1 tsp. of distilled spirits. The alcohol will help the oil mix in with the water.

      Shake the spray bottle vigorously to mix the contents.

    • 4

      Use the spray immediately after shaking. Water and oil will not stay mixed for long as it will naturally separate. Shake again after each use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep the spray away from the dog's nose and eyes.
