How to Formulate a Reed Diffuser Base

You can make your own custom oil blend for a reed diffuser.

Reed diffusers are helpful in flavoring the air in a house or office building with the sweet smell of flowers, fruits or spices. By using a reed diffuser to scent the air instead of potpourri or sprays, the aroma will be more natural and subtle. You can find reed diffusers and their oil at a home decorating or department store, but you may not like the scents. One solution is to create your own diffuser oil mix yourself.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl
• 1/3 cup fragrance oil
• 2 Tbsp essential oil
• 2 Tbsp dipropylene glycol
• Diffuser vase
• Funnel
• Bamboo reeds

Instructions

1. Place the bowl onto a flat surface.

2. Pour the fragrance oil, essential oil and dipropylene glycol into the bowl. Mix well.

3. Place a funnel into the diffuser vase.

4. Pour the oil mixture into the vase through the funnel.

5. Take out the funnel, and insert bamboo reeds into the vase.
