How to Change Over to Digital TV in Denver, Colorado

Use your antenna to get a digital signal.

In 2009, the United States changed from using analog television signals to using digital television signals. If you cannot get a television station to show in Denver, Colorado, using your antenna, then you need to convert over to digital television. The digital signal is clearer and crisper than the analog signal. In order to change over, you need to purchase a digital converter if you do not have a television that can handle a coaxial cable.

Instructions

1. Check to see if your television has a built-in digital tuner. If your TV has a label marked "Integrated Digital Tuner," "Digital Tuner Built-In," "Digital Receiver," "Digital Tuner," "DTV," "ATSC" or "HDTV," the TV has a digital tuner. In this case, connect one end of a coaxial cable to your television and the other end to your antenna.

2. Purchase a digital converter box if you do not have a television that has a built-in digital tuner.

3. Screw one end of the coaxial cable that comes with the converter box into your antenna and screw the other end into your converter box. Be sure to screw the cable into your converter's "In" plug.

4. Connect the wire that comes with your converter box to your television and then connect the other end to your converter box. Be sure to screw the plug into your converter's "Out" plug. Once you turn your television on, you should have a digital television signal.
