Instructions

    • 1

Set up your mini hibachi on a flat surface such as a picnic table.

    • 2

Pour charcoal into the hibachi. You can use regular charcoal or self-lighting charcoal. If you use regular charcoal, squirt a small amount of lighter fluid over the charcoal so it will light easier.

    • 3

Light the charcoal using a match, butane lighter for grills or long, fireplace matchsticks.

    • 4

Place your marshmallow on a skewer and hold it over the flame. If you like the outside of the marshmallow burned and the inside gooey, roast your marshmallows when the flame is at its peak. Just let the marshmallow catch on fire, then blow out the flame quickly. If you prefer your marshmallows to be golden brown, allow the flame to die down, as the charcoals turn gray, then hold your marshmallow on the skewer over the mini hibachi, turning it occasionally, as the marshmallow browns. Roasting the perfect golden brown marshmallow takes time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a can of Sterno instead of charcoal to create a flame inside of your mini hibachi. If you do not plan to cook more than a few marshmallows, this is an easier roasting method.

  • Roasted marshmallows are very hot. Allow them to cool before letting children handle or eat them.

  • Children must be supervised when roasting marshmallows.

  • If your charcoal is difficult to light, stuff newspaper around the coals, add some more lighter fluid and light your fire. Be sure your charcoal is dry, as wet charcoal will not light.
