How to Make a Peace Sign Bracelet

Peace signs are trendy accents for jewelry.

Peace signs are a popular way to show how you feel about war in the United States and around the world. They show that you stand for calm and peace. Sometimes, however, they're just a trendy accessory that goes with your bohemian ensemble. Whatever the case, making your own peace sign bracelet can be a fun way to express your style and your politics while not breaking the bank on paying for expensive jewelry.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit a craft store and choose your beads. You should pick out 10 to 15 beads of two or three different colors and another 10 peace sign beads. If you pick out larger beads, you will need fewer, and if the beads are smaller, you should get more. It's always best to have more than necessary, in case you make a mistake.

    • 2

Sort your beads into a pattern. Lay out the leather string and place the beads next to each other the entire length of the string -- this will help you determine how many you need. Create an alternating pattern of three beads in one color, a peace sign bead and three of the next color. Make sure you leave enough string on each end so you can tie the bracelet together.

    • 3

Thread the leather string through your beads. Keep a hold of the bottom of the string while you do this so none of the beads fall off.

    • 4

Tie the two ends together loosely, then put the bracelet on your wrist. Tighten the ends and cut off the excess leather.
