If the instrument panel lights on your 1998 Sienna LE become worn or damaged they can prevent you receiving important information such as the speed you are traveling. If this occurs you should look to replace the bulbs on your instrument panel before taking your vehicle out on the road. You can pick up the replacement bulbs from your local auto store.

Step 1

Locate the battery underneath the hood of your Sienna. Use a wrench to remove the bolt which attaches the negative cable to the battery terminal. Lift the cable from the terminal.

Step 2

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws which attach the cowl trim to the dashboard. The cowl trim is made of rubber and can be found around the outside of the instrument panel.

Step 3

Remove the three mounting screws which attach the instrument panel to the dashboard. Unhook the electrical connector from the rear with your hand and lift it completely from the dash. Place the instrument panel on a flat work surface.

Step 4

Unscrew the damaged bulbs from the instrument panel with your hands and place them in the trash. Insert the new bulbs into the panel turning them in a clockwise direction until they are securely fixed in place.

Step 5

Reattach the instrument panel and cowl trim to the dashboard following the removal steps in reverse. Fix the negative cable back on to the terminal and turn on the engine to check that the new bulbs on the instrument panel work correctly.
