Instructions

    • 1

Plug in your hot glue gun so it has time to heat up before using.

    • 2

Wash and dry the plastic jar you have selected for your snow globe.

    • 3

Check that your object fits into the diameter of the jar.

    • 4

Select a plastic bottle cap from a carbonated drink or sports drink. The object will need to be slightly elevated inside the jar to be seen. The bottle cap will serve as base for your object. Place the bottle cap right side up on the inside of the plastic jar lid. Set your object on top of the bottle cap and gently place the plastic jar over it. Ensure that the object is clearly visible and you are satisfied with the placement.

    • 5

Use aquarium sealant to glue the object onto the top of the bottle cap. Then, using the same sealant, glue the bottle cap to the inside of the plastic lid. Allow it to dry according to the sealant's instructions.

    • 6

Collect empty eggshells and thoroughly clean out all the egg. Allow them to dry.

    • 7

Place the clean eggshells inside a plastic bag. Using a rolling pin to break down eggshells and set them aside.

    • 8

Fill another jar with baby oil. Depending on the scene you are recreating, decide whether you want snowflakes or glitter. If you want snowflakes, use the broken eggshells. You can also use both glitter and snowflakes. Add them slowly to the baby oil to achieve the perfect balance. Once you are satisfied with your mixture, grab your plastic jar and the lid glued with the bottle cap and object.

    • 9

Working over the sink, fill the plastic jar with your mixture, then secure on the bottom lid as tightly as possible. This will prevent future leaks. Then shake, and you should have a beautiful glittering snow globe.

    • 10

Find a ribbon or cloth that fits around the plastic base. Using your hot glue gun, glue a thin strip around the base and press the ribbon firmly in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try using waterproof ornaments or figurines. This will ensure that your snow globe lasts for a long time.
