How to Get Your Birth Record Online
Birth records are recorded with the State Health Department in the state where each birth occurs. States allow you to obtain a copy of your birth record in a variety of ways. All states allow you to make this request in person or send your request by mail. Some allow you to phone in a request, and others allow you to order your birth record online. Most states don't have their own online birth record service, so they refer residents to a third-party site called VitalChek to order birth records.
