Sirloin steaks can be cooked easily in a slow cooker with minimum preparation or attention. Slow-cooked sirloin is heated for several hours in a crock pot. The advantage to slow cooking is that the sirloin steaks will turn out much more tender than when other cooking methods are used. Furthermore, slow cooking is one of the easier ways to prepare a meal, making it ideal for busy lifestyles.
Things You'll Need
- Seasonings, as desired
- Vegetables, as desired
- Slow cooker
Choose a recipe according to your personal preferences. Collect the necessary seasonings or vegetables for the recipe. Prepare these as necessary.
Coat a large nonstick skillet with a thin layer of cooking spray. Place on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Place the sirloin steaks in the skillet in a flat layer. Allow them to cook a few moments and flip them over. Brown the steaks on one side. Wait a few more moments and flip them again. When both sides of the steaks are browned, turn off the heat and remove them.
Place the steaks in the slow cooker. Add recipe ingredients. Cover the slow cooker and turn the temperature to high.
Cook on high for three or four hours. The timing depends on how done the steaks are to be. Four hours will produce well-done sirloin steaks. Any vegetables added to the slow cooker should be tender in this period of time as well.
Reduce the heat on the slow cooker to warm when cooking is completed. This will keep the steaks slightly heated until served.
