How to Draw Christmas Bells

How to Draw Christmas Bells thumbnail
Use light lead and dark lead pencils to draw the Christmas bell.

Christmas bells can be drawn in many different styles. There can be long Christmas bells and round Christmas bells. The style of the drawn Christmas bell can fit the style of the rest of the drawing or be its own entity as a single bell for a project such a Christmas card. One constant element of a Christmas bell is the addition of a bow. Other decorations of your choice can be added to the Christmas bell.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a light lead pencil such as 2H to draw a circle or a vertical oval for the top of the Christmas bell.

    • 2

Draw an oval under the top of the bell to create the bottom of the bell slightly larger than the shape of the top.

    • 3

Connect the top of the bell to the bottom of the bell by drawing a curved line in the shape of a "C" for the right side of the bell. Draw a backwards "C" for the left side of the bell.

    • 4

Draw two triangles at the top of the bell, with one point of the right triangle pointing to the middle bell and one point of the left triangle pointing to the middle of the bell, to begin drawing a bow. The size of the bow can be small or large.

    • 5

Sketch a square in the middle of the bow to create the knot.

    • 6

Draw two triangles vertically to create the tails for the bow.

    • 7

Round out the sharp points of the bow by drawing a "C" shape for each of the corners.

    • 8

Edit the tails of the bow by drawing points for the tail. Draw points by sketching lines from the corners of the triangle base and join them together by connecting the lines to create another triangle.

    • 9

Finalize the Christmas bell by using dark lead pencils such as B to 6B, and draw over the light lead pencil lines.

Tips & Warnings

  • Light lead pencils range from 4H to H. The higher the number lead for H pencils, the lighter the pencil will draw.

  • Dark lead pencils range from B to 6B. The higher the number lead for B pencils, the darker the pencil will draw.

  • Draw circles under the middle of the bow to add berries to the Christmas bell.

  • You can draw other decorations to personalize your Christmas bell.
