You can make your drinks distinctive by varying the sizes and shapes of the ice cubes you use. Ice cube trays now come in metal, plastic or silicon, which gives more design options for your cubes. Things You'll Need

  • Ice cube trays
  • Distilled water
  • Pot
  • Sealable freezer bag

      Buy a variety of ice cube trays from your local discount store. Pick up trays with tiny cubes, bar cubes, large cubes and long cubes.

      Boil distilled water. Allow it to cool a tiny bit before pouring it into the ice cube trays. Place them in the freezer.

      Freeze the water for at least two hours before removing the trays from the freezer. Twist the trays to remove the ice. Run hot water on the back of the tray for stubborn cubes.

      Place it in a sealable freezer bag. Add more boiled distilled water to the trays. Place the bag and the trays back in the freezer. Repeat the procedure until the bag is filled with ice cubes of different sizes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add different-shaped ice to your bag, such as shells, animals, stars or the moon.

  • Pre-make the margarita mix and substitute it for the water. Freeze the mix into ice cubes for drinks.
