How to Make Your Own Calendar to Save to Your Computer

Creating a customized calendar to save on your computer can be accomplished with various programs. Computers that include the Microsoft Works package have a Works Calendar to create, edit and save calendars, while computers with Corel preinstalled have the Oberon Calendar wizard bundled within CorelDRAW. For computer users without bundled software, however, Google Calendar is one solution for making your own calendar and saving it to your computer.

Instructions

  1. Microsoft Works Calendar

    • 1

Click the menu button for your computer. Then click the "Microsoft Works" folder, followed by "Microsoft Works Calendar."

    • 2

Click the pointer in the blue bar directly above the calendar if you want to create a calendar for a future month instead of the current month. Toggle a "1-week" or "7-day" view by clicking the appropriate toolbar button based on your needs.

    • 3

Add a new task by clicking the "New" button in the toolbar. Type in the "Title" and "Location" for your appointment. For multihour or multiday appointments, select a start time and end time.

    • 4

Click the drop-down arrow beside "Reminder" if you want your computer to alert you when an appointment is approaching. Click "OK" to save.

    • 5

Close your calendar by clicking the "X" in the upper right-hand corner or clicking "File" followed by "Exit." Your calendar auto-saves to your computer.

Click "Holidays" to add special occasions to your calendar. Click "Add/Modify," select the month and date for the occasion, and type in the particulars such as "My birthday." Click "Close."

    • 10

Select a layout style for your calendar from the options presented, such as "Month: large" or "Month: large + 2 small." Click "Expand" to preview the calendar.

    • 11

Save the style of the calendar for future use by clicking the "Page layout" tab in the camera wizard, followed by the "+" next to "Formatting style." Type in a name for the style, and then click "OK."
