How to Write a 4th Grade Speech on Hobbies
Writing a speech encompasses the same basic rules despite age or grade level. Writing a fourth grade speech is simpler than writing a speech for a room full of executives or professors, but the basic preparations are the same for both types of speeches. The audience will be young school-age children, as will the presenter. The presenter in the speech needs to consider the audience will be a group of his peers, so the presenter needs to write for an audience on the same learning level as himself.

1
Gather specific information on a particular hobby. Make notes on the hobby requirements, necessary tools, history of the hobby, and/or popularity of the hobby. List how to complete the hobby. Research to find out how others enjoy the hobby, and where the hobby is most practiced.

2
Organize the speech into three parts, the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. During the introduction, you will inform your audience which hobby you will be discussing. The body of the speech will entail the hobby details, and the conclusion will review the whole speech. Writing a speech is parallel to writing a report. The audience needs to know what you are talking about, then they need details, then they need a review of the presented information.

Revise the speech for accuracy and order. Create note cards for the presentation of the speech, and number them in a corner so they don't get mixed up during class. Make sure the cards are in the proper order, with the introduction first, the body second, and the conclusion last. Presenting the speech will be smoother when these preparations are completed before the speech is delivered.

Tips & Warnings
Remain calm during the speech. The audience includes members of your fourth grade class, and if everyone has the same assignment, your classmates are also preparing for a presentation. Your audience is on your learning level and may be just as nervous as you are while presenting the speech.
