How to Build a Paint Booth Room
Painting or spray painting requires a well-ventilated area to prevent breathing in toxic fumes from the paints. A paint booth room can be a custom-made paint booth in a garage. Paint booths can be made of common materials purchased at any home improvement store. Anyone who is moderately skilled in building simple structures and working with tools can construct a very effective paint booth.
Things You'll Need
- Four large sheets of foam core insulation (for example, 5 feet by 8 feet)
- Large square fan
- Furnace filter
- Card table
- Heavy-duty duct tape
- Portable saw

1
Stand three insulation sheets up vertically to form left, center and right panels that comprise a three-sided square. Duct tape the edges tightly together. Cut the fourth sheet so that it forms a trapezoid to fit onto the top of the square structure. Duct tape the edges.

2
Cut a square hole in the center panel of the booth structure. Make sure it is approximately the size of the large fan and high enough for the card table.

3
Place a furnace filter against the hole on the inside of the booth. Duct tape the filter to the sides. The filter is used to absorb dust and debris particles and provide ventilation. Place the fan on top of the card table on the outside of the back panel of the booth.
