Even if you don't physically have your Barnes & Noble gift card, you can still redeem it for gifts, books, and movies through the Barnes & Noble website. Although you won't be able to check out at the local store without the gift card, you can shop online and utilize the balance if you have the gift card number available.

Visit Barnesandnoble.com, and put the items you want into your shopping cart via the online store.

Complete the beginning of the checkout process. If you have an online BN.com account, you can log in and continue with your purchase. Or, if you're a new customer to the website, you can set up your free online account which will store your email address, shipping address, and other pertinent information for any future return trips to the website.

Select "redeem gift card" on the checkout screen that requests form of payment. You will be asked to enter in the numbers printed on the Barnes and Noble gift card.

Enter in the numbers of the gift card, and click "Enter" to redeem the amount on the card.

Tips & Warnings
If the amount on the card does not cover the total purchase in your shopping cart, you will be asked to enter a secondary form of payment, such as a withdrawal from your PayPal account or a credit card number to charge the remaining balance.
