Not all shower stalls need a full size shower curtain.

Not all shower openings are the same. If you have a shower stall and have removed or never had a shower door, then you do not need a full shower curtain. Half a curtain liner is typically enough for a shower stall. You can save money by cutting the curtain in two pieces and using only one piece of the liner at a time. Instructions

    • 1

Lay down the curtain liner or material and stretch it until it is flat. Place some heavy objects, such as books, at the corners so the material doesn't move.

    • 2

Measure the width of the curtain and divide the number in half. Measure again from one side of the curtain across to the center point. Do this at the top and bottom of the curtain as well as several points moving down the center of the curtain. This will help you cut the material straight. Mark the points with a pen.

    • 3

Place a yard stick down on the curtain and line it up with your measured marks. Draw a straight line along the yard stick down the middle of the curtain.

    • 4

Cut along the drawn line with scissors. Cut carefully to maintain a straight line.

    • 5

Fold over the cut edge of the material 1/4 to 1/2 inches if the material is cloth. Cut cloth edges need to be sewn down so they don't fray.

    • 6

Sew along the fold with a simple in and out stitch with needle and thread.
