How to Install a New Float in a Toilet

If the water does not stop running when the toilet tank is full, you may need to install a new float. When your toilet is flushed, the float is lowered as water leaves the tank and begins to rise as the tank refills. Once the float is lifted to the filled position, the tank is supposed to stop filling. A damaged float fills with water and does not float. If the float loses its buoyancy, replace it.
