How to Remove Paint From Action Figures

Painting and decorating action figures is a hobby shared by millions of people. You cannot change the paint on an action figure by painting over the original color. You have to remove the original paint prior to applying a new color.

Things You'll Need

• Paint remover
• Cotton swabs
• Warm soapy water
• Soft, dry cloth

Instructions

1. Clean the action figure in warm, soapy water to remove dirt. Pat the action figure dry with a soft, dry cloth.

2. Apply paint remover solution to a cotton swab. In a single stroking motion, lightly swipe the swab on the area of the action figure you are removing the paint from. Repeat until the paint is removed. Do not apply pressure.

3. Wash the action figure in warm, soapy water to remove any remaining paint remover. Dry the action figure.

Tips & Warnings

• Always use paint remover in a well ventilated area.
