How to Read the Model Number on Cub Cadet Z Force

Every Cub Cadet Force Z mower is provided with a product tag. This tag has basic information about the mower listed on it to help the owner in the event that parts are required for the mower. The model number and serial number are listed on the tag. This information is important to know when requesting maintenance for the mower. When viewing the product tag it is important to understand what the different categories on the tag mean and how the information can assist you.

Instructions

1. Locate the product tag underneath the seat of the Cub Cadet Force Z mower. Release the seat of the mower by releasing the seat lock and lifting the back of the seat forward.

2. Locate the model number on the product tag. Cub Cadet uses different two number prefixes at the beginning of the model numbers to signify the different types of products the company makes. The first two numbers on the Cub Cadet Force Z mower is 17. The number 18 is the prefix for walk-behind power mowers.

3. Find the DOM (date of manufacture) field to determine when the mower was built. This helps the owner find parts if needed. It is also important information for buying and selling a mower. The date of manufacture category includes the month and year of the mower's manufacture.
