How to Do Yo-Yo Tricks
When performing yo-yo tricks, you need to practice the basic tricks and get better at them before you try some of the more advanced ones. You can do many yo-yo tricks using the "sleeper" technique. You'll need a steady arm and a properly serviced yo-yo.

1
Throw a sleeper by holding the yo-yo up against your head and flicking your wrist to allow the yo-yo to roll out of your hand and into a sleeper.
-
2
Throw a creeper by flicking your wrist sharply to throw your yo-yo into a sleeper. Lower the yo-yo to the ground and continue lowering your hand until it is a few inches from the ground. Tug lightly on the string for the yo-yo to return to your hand.

Walk the dog by flicking your wrist to throw a sleeper. Lower the yo-yo to the ground and allow it to roll on the ground a few feet from you. Tug gently on the string to return the yo-yo to your hand.
-
4
Flick your wrist to throw your yo-yo at a a 45-degree angle. Move your hand over the yo-yo where it is spinning to give the look of a UFO.
-
5
Throw the yo-yo out in a curved motion. Once the yo-yo has reached the end of its string, it will return to you. Do not catch the yo-yo; instead fling it back out. Either catch the yo-yo when it returns to you or continue throwing the yo-yo out in a circular motion for more loop-the-loop.

6
Hold the yo-yo by your side and throw the yo-yo out in a circular motion. Once the yo-yo gets to the end of the string, cushion it so that it falls into a sleeper. The forward motion will carry the yo-yo in a revolution, performing the "around the world" trick.
