Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day, is a memorial day observed on November 11 in Commonwealth countries to remember people of their armed forces who have died on duty since World War I. Remembrance Day wreaths, green with red poppies on them, are a common way to celebrate the day.

Things You'll Need

  • Green, red and black construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Instructions

      Trace your hand on a piece of green paper with a pencil ten times.

      Cut out the traced hand prints.

    • 3

      Glue them together in a circular wreath form with the palms facing in and the fingers facing out.

    • 4

      Cut out poppy-shaped flowers, or circular shapes, from the red construction paper and use the black to decorate the inside of the flowers.

    • 5

      Glue the decorations onto the hand print wreath.

Tips & Warnings

  • Other patters can be cut out of colored construction paper to personalize the decoration of Remembrance wreaths.
