How to Install a DSC Alexor Wireless Alarm System thumbnail
The DSC Alexor wireless alarm system has all the major features of most hard-wired systems.

House alarms have become a standard house feature and a necessity in most areas. They come as an included feature with most new houses, and owners of houses built without them keep the security companies who install them scurrying to meet the demand. The biggest drawback for these systems installed after construction is complete, is all the drilling and tampering with the existing structure. Thankfully, Alexor makes a wireless alarm system that eliminates the need to run wires and drill holes in door and window frames. The DSC Alexor Wireless Alarm System is a much easier install and has every necessary alarm feature. Does this Spark an idea?

Use the drill and bit to pre-drill the four mounting holes after marking their locations.

Remove the back plastic front cover of the central control unit. Route the AC power supply and phone line through the wire channel and into the control unit's terminal block, where there should be labels indicating where each goes. With the cover still removed, locate the mounting holes of the unit. Use the four screws included with the unit to secure the central control unit to the wall.

Connect the battery of the DSC Alexor unit by pushing the connector into its receptacle. Refer to the diagram if needed to connect the battery, and make sure the battery is fully connected. Reattach the front plastic cover by inserting it into the outer rim of the back plate and snapping it back into place from the bottom.

Insert the AC power plug into its outlet, powering up the unit. Retrieve the keypad. Turn it over to access the battery compartment on the lower left of the keypad. Install the four AA batteries in the proper position. Snap the cover back onto the battery compartment. Turn the unit over and depress and hold the * and 1 buttons for three seconds. The DSC Alexor screen lights up to enable you to enroll it into the system.

Wait to see the message, "WFKP Enrollment Successful," which tells you that enrollment has been accomplished. Locate a wall in a convenient area and place the base of the keypad onto the wall. Make sure the pad is straight and mark the holes through the keypad base where you will screw the keypad to the wall. Use the screws to attach the base to the wall.
