Sometimes making that whole big pot full of coffee seems like a waste. Whether you are heading out the door or you and your housemate want different kinds of coffee, it is possible to make just one cup without a fancy single-serving machine. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

Instructions

1
Boil enough water for your cup of coffee in a kettle or pot.
-
2
Place 1 tbsp. of ground coffee in the center of your square of fabric. Muslin or cheesecloth work best but anything that will allow the coffee to brew will work. Try an old pair of cotton tights or nylons (pantyhose).
-
-
3
Bring the corners of the fabric together and gently twist the fabric so that the coffee is in a ball at the bottom. Secure the bundle with your rubber band.
-
4
Place the bundle in your coffee cup and pour the boiling water into the cup.
-
5
Steep the coffee for several minutes and remove the bundle.
-
6
Drink your coffee as you normally would.
-
7
Save the bundle for one more cup, if you like. Otherwise, open the bundle, discard the coffee grounds and rinse off the cloth. Let it dry thoroughly for use again.
