Recover Your WoW Account

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORP) game, where thousands of users interact in the WoW online universe at any one time via the Battle.net game servers. When creating a WoW account, users must log in with an e-mail account and password. If you forget your login password, you can take a few steps to create a new password. If you forget what e-mail address you used, you'll need to contact customer service (see Tips).

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Web browser, then navigate to the Blizzard World of Warcraft website (See Resources).

    • 2

Click the "Log in" link near the upper right-hand corner of the World of Warcraft home page. Wait for the "Battle.Net" login window to appear.

    • 3

Click the "Can't log in?" link beneath the blue "LOG IN" button.

    • 4

Wait for the "Can't log in?" page to load. Enter your BattleNet e-mail address, first name and last name in the corresponding fields on Web form. Click the "Continue" button. Wait for a new page to load and prompt you with a security question.

    • 5

Enter the answer to your secret security question in the field under the "Secret Question" link. Click the "Continue" button.

    • 6

Log in to your e-mail software or online e-mail account. Within a few seconds of entering the correct answer to your secret security question, you should receive an e-mail from "Blizzard Support." The e-mail will contain a link that allows you to access your account and reset the password. Click the link in the e-mail to return to the WoW website.

    • 7

Enter your new WoW password in the "New Password" field. Re-enter the password in the "Confirm Password" field. You can now access BattleNet and your WoW account using the e-mail username and new password.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you forgot the e-mail address used to create your WoW account, or if you don't have access to the e-mail account anymore, call the Blizzard support staff at (949) 955-1382. When requesting your WoW account information, you must provide the Blizzard representative with your name, credit card number used to activate the WoW account and other pertinent billing information.

  • If you are unable to verify your identity over the phone, Blizzard may choose to send you an "Identity Verification" form via e-mail. Once you receive the email, print out the form and fill it out. Include a copy of a valid ID or passport, then fax the form and ID copy to the number listed on the verification document.
