Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the ice cream mixture using ingredients such as sugar, salt and milk. Put the mixture into the can of the ice cream maker. Make sure the can is cool and only fill it 3/4 full. Add the dasher and close the can.

    • 2

Put the ice cream can into the bucket (the main part of the appliance); make sure the can is centered inside the bucket.

    • 3

Attach the motor drive over the ice cream can. The stem of the dasher must be in the hole located at the bottom of the motor drive. Turn the ice cream can until the motor drive connects with the ice cream can cover.

    • 4

Put the four tabs on the motor drive bottom into the holes on the top of the bucket. Turn the motor drive counterclockwise to properly attach it to the bucket. Plug the machine into an outlet.

    • 5

Turn the machine on. Add two inches of ice around the bottom of the bucket. Add 1/4 cup of rock salt to the top of the ice. Add more ice and salt layers until the ice reaches the top of the ice cream can.

    • 6

Let the ice cream churn for 20 to 40 minutes. Shut the machine if the motor stops before then. Unplug the machine and take the motor drive off.

    • 7

Wipe the ice and salt from the top of the ice cream can before taking off the cover. Pull out the dasher and clean off the ice cream with a rubber spatula. Push the ice cream into the ice cream can.
