How to Restore Dry Shisha Tobacco

How to Restore Dry Shisha Tobacco thumbnail
The shisha smoked in a hookah needs to be moist.

Shisha Tobacco is the moist, flavored tobacco smoked in a hookah pipe. Shisha comes in myriad of flavors, but one thing they all have in common is the need to stay moist. Properly stored shisha can be kept for up to six weeks, if it is stored in an air-tight container. However, sometimes the shisha dries out and needs to be refreshed before smoking. If you don't refresh the tobacco, you will be faced with a hot, harsh smoke rather than the smooth, cool flavor for which hookahs are known.

Things You'll Need

  • Glycerin or molasses or honey
  • Air-tight container
  • Fork or spoon

Instructions

    • 1

Pour your shisha into the air-tight container. As you transfer it, gently touch it in several areas to test the moisture content. You want it to be full and moist, not dry, brittle or shriveled.

    • 2

Add a small amount (about the size of a dime) of your liquid (e.g. honey) to the shisha. Mix it thoroughly throughout the entire amount. Test the shisha again for moisture. It should be full, firm and moist, not juicy or soggy.

    • 3

Continue adding in liquid a tiny bit at a time until the shisha is moist enough to smoke. Seal the air-tight container until you're ready to use the shisha.
