How to Make Potpourri in the Bottle Using Wooden Sticks

How to Make Potpourri in the Bottle Using Wooden Sticks thumbnail
Reed diffusers can make a room smell like potpourri.

Potpourri is often purchased as scented dried flowers, bark and pine cones that are placed into decorative bowls, which are put on tables to add aroma to a room. If you do not like the idea of putting out dried materials, you can add the aroma of potpourri by using a reed diffuser bottle, which uses the potpourri oil to scent wooden sticks that are inserted into the oil instead of using the oil on bark, flowers and pine cones.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the tip of a funnel into the opening of a glass bottle.

    • 2

Pour potpourri fragrance oil into the funnel to fill the bottle halfway full.

    • 3

Remove the funnel from the bottle, tapping off any remaining drips into the bottle.

    • 4

Insert eight to ten wooden skewer sticks into the bottle. Allow the sticks to sit in the oil for a couple minutes.

    • 5

Pull the sticks back out of the bottle, then insert the opposite ends into the bottle. This will allow the scent on the top of the sticks to fill the air with aroma while the bottom of the sticks fill with oil.
