How to Play the Carnival Cakewalk Game
The cakewalk at carnivals is always a popular game. People love to win, and their is excitement and anticipation involved as you wait to see when the music will stop. The cakewalk is also a game in which anyone can play. Age doesn't matter and there is no skill involved. The winner gets to walk away with a delicious baked good and then the game can start again. Anyone can win which makes it appealing to everyone.

Write the numbers 1 through 15 each on their own piece of 8 1/2-by-11-inch sheet of paper. It's good to use colored paper.

Laminate the numbered pages.

Tape them down in a large circle. Don't put them in numerical order. Mix them up.

Collect baked goods from volunteers or buy a large amount of cakes and pastries. It's best to collect items from volunteers so you keep a profit.

Gather music CDs. These are what you will play while people are walking around the circle for your cake walk.

Write the numbers 1 through 15 on small squares of paper and put them in a bucket all mixed up.

Form a line for people who want to participate. Fifteen people at a time can play. You can play with fewer if 15 people aren't on hand to play during a round.

Each player begins by standing on a number of his choice. When the music starts, participants walk clockwise around the circle. They keep walking until the music stops.

Turn off the music and draw a number out of the bucket. The person standing on that number wins. The winner gets to select the baked good of her choice.
