Add an RSS Subscription to Vuze

As you browse websites for music and movie downloads, you will often see a Really Simple Syndication link. When you subscribe to an RSS link for a download website, the program that you use to add the subscription automatically notifies you each time the associated website has a new file available to download. Vuze is a free BitTorrent client that has built-in support for RSS subscriptions and, if you use it to subscribe to the RSS feed for your favorite download website, you will no longer need to check the site manually to see if new files have been added.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to a website hosting an RSS feed to which you would like to subscribe. Generally, an RSS link can be identified by the letters "RSS" or by an orange icon with a white dot in the lower-left corner and two semi-circles extending from it. Click the link to open it in the web browser.

    • 2

Highlight the entire contents of the address bar at the top of the browser window. Right-click the highlighted text and select "Copy" to copy the address of the RSS feed to the Windows clipboard.

    • 3

      Launch Vuze.

    • 4

Click the "Subscriptions" link on the left side of the Vuze window. A new window appears asking if you would like to enable subscriptions. Click "Yes."

    • 5

Click the "Create New Subscription" button and then click the "RSS" tab at the top of the window that appears.

    • 6

Click the text box under the words "Type or paste the URL below." Use the "Backspace" key to erase the text currently in the box, then right-click the box and select "Paste." The address that you copied appears in the box.

    • 7

Click "Save." Vuze downloads the contents of the RSS feed and displays a list of the files available to download. Click the blue button next to any file to download it.
