The Sportline Pedometer 345 measures the distance you travel on foot when running, jogging or walking. Sports enthusiasts, as well as those who simply exercise in order to keep fit, often wear the device in order to monitor their level of exercise. The manufacturer of the Sportline Pedometer 345 designed the device to record hours and minutes, the number of steps traveled, distance covered in miles or kilometers and the number of calories burned during a specific exercise period.

Pedometer Setup

  • Detach the vinyl film covering the LED display of your pedometer.

  • Remove the battery protector. Pull it slowly from the battery door on the back of the pedometer. This will activate your pedometer.

  • Press the “Reset” button on the front of the pedometer. This will set the pedometer back to zero in the step, distance and calorie modes and will change hours in the “Clock” mode.

Entering Stride Length

  • Locate the mode button on the display panel and press it. The abbreviation “Dist” appears; this refers to distance.

  • Enter your personal stride length using the “Set” button. Each press of the button increases you stride by one inch or one centimeter and strides range from 12 to 96 inches or from 30 to 240 centimeters.

  • Wait five seconds after setting the stride length mode to ensure the display returns to the distance mode.

Setting the Calorie Counter

  • Locate the mode button on the display panel and press it to display the abbreviation “KCAL.”

  • Enter your personal weight using the “Set” button. Each press of the button adds one pound, or one kilogram, to the display number. Pounds range from 60 to 300 and kilograms range from 30 to 135.

  • Wait five seconds after setting your personal weight to ensure the display returns to the distance mode.

Setting the Clock

  • Press the mode button until the word “Clock” appears in the display window.

  • Press the “Set” button until the display begins to flash. This allows you to enter the setting mode.

  • Indicate the time of day. Press the mode button until the letter “A” for morning hours appears or until the letter “P” appears representing all other hours. While the display flashes, press the mode button to make your time selection.

  • Wait six seconds after setting the clock to ensure the display returns to the clock mode.

Wearing the Pedometer

  • Wear your pedometer in the closed position. The case needs to remain closed for the pedometer to record measurements.

  • Fasten the clip of the pedometer to an edge of your shorts or pants or slide the clip over your belt.

  • Position the pedometer so that it remains horizontal to the ground. When in transit, check the position of the pedometer frequently to ensure it stays parallel to the ground.
