1
Put together a committee. A good rule of thumb is to assign one adult to 10 children. Assign one person to maintain contact information for the group and one person to be in charge of collecting and counting the money.
-
2
Elect a person to be in charge of the entire event. Choose someone who has time to devote and can be in charge for the duration of the fund raiser. This person should have good skills in communication and dealing with the general public.

3
Decide as a group which brand and product to sell. Contact the company and place an order. If you are in a primarily low income community, candy bars or suckers that can be sold for $1 a piece will work the best. Areas with more revenue will be able to handle name brand chocolate for $2 a bar.
-
4
Set a fund raising goal for the group. This will help determine how much chocolate to purchase. Set a price for the chocolate that is reasonable. The goal can be modified based on number of sellers recruited and public interest.

5
Make signs as a committee to display in schools, at department stores and other venues for fund raising. You may even be able to have the local newspaper or television station donate advertising.
-
6
Give each child and their parent the product and specific instructions on cost of the candy, deadline dates and how to collect the money. Let each family know who their specific contact person is to help answer questions.
-
7
Turn in all money to the person in charge of money on the decided deadline date. Celebrate the fund raiser by giving awards or recognition to the seller who earns the most money, the person who gave the most time or whoever the committee feels has earned a reward.
