How to Make Primitive Jar Labels
If you make homemade canned foods or handmade candles in jars, you may consider selling the jars at festivals or farmer's markets for profit. One way to make your goods more profitable is to make them appear more primitive and rustic. You can do this by canning the goods in primitive looking jars, then placing primitive labels onto the jars to show the customers what is inside each jar. You can make primitive labels using a few simple materials.
Things You'll Need

1
Cut a piece of beige card stock to measure two inches wide, four inches long with a pair of pinking shears. The pinking shears contain teeth that will cut the paper to a scalloped edge.
-
2
Write the information on the front of the label using a paint pen. Allow the paint to dry.
-
-
3
Punch a hole into one corner of the label with a single hole punch. Place the hole about one-half inch from the edges.
-
4
Cut a piece of raffia to measure eight inches long.
-
5
Insert one end of the raffia into the hole of the label.
-
6
Wrap the raffia around the primitive jar, and tie it into a bow. This will attach the label to the jar. The raffia will accentuate the primitive feel of the jar.
