Ice skating is a popular recreational activity all over the world. In the United Kingdom, the Gillingham Ice Bowl, part of the Silver Blades family of skating rinks, is located on Ambley road in the Gillingham Business Park on the southeast side of Kent. If you want to go skating at the Ice Bowl but do not live in the area or are not familiar with it, you will need directions to the rink. You can get to the ice rink by car, train or taxi.

  1. By Car or Taxi

      Take Junction 4 from the M2; the signpost says A278 to Gillingham.

      Drive through the first roundabout. Turn left at the second roundabout into Gillingham Park.

      Drive down the park street to another roundabout and then turn right. The Ice Bowl is the large red building on the left side (the second turn on the left).

    By Train

      Find out when and from where the train departs and returns to your local station.

      Take the train to the Gillingham Railway Station.

      Walk to the rink. The walking time is about 25 to 40 minutes or more, depending on your pace.

  • The Gillingham Ice Bowl suggests that drivers watch for the brown-colored signs that contain tourist information. Taxis to the Ice Bowl are available from the Gillingham and Rainham train stations as well as from the Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.
