How to Craft Bandanas
The bandana is a very versatile item of clothing. It can be worn as a skull cap, as a headband, on the wrist or around the neck. A headband bandana can be worn with or without overlapping lines. You can even make bandana halter tops or shirts. Bandanas can also be used in a variety of craft projects such as wreaths, pillows, tote bags, journal covers, pencil holders, or to decorate your sneakers for a unique look. Does this Spark an idea?

Bandana Worn As A Skull Cap

Position the bandana diagonally on a flat surface so that it makes a triangle shape. The side that you want to be shown should be facing down. Fold the corner nearest to you away from you in the opposite direction.

Place the center of the longest end of the bandana on your forehead. It should be positioned just beneath your hair line. Smooth out the triangle with your hands over the top of your head and down the back of it.

Take the two corners of the material and position them around the back of your head.
Make a knot over the bottom corner of the bandana triangle. Tuck the material behind the knot so that the bandana is snug on your head.

Smooth out the edges of the bandana using your hands. It should fit snug on your head and it should cover up any hair.

Position the bandana diagonally on a flat surface so that it makes a triangle shape. The side that you want to show should be facing down.

Holding the corner nearest you, fold the bandana until it is about 1 or 2 inches wide. Continue to fold it up evenly until you run out of material.

Position the headband on your forehead and tie it at the back of your head.

Tips & Warnings
Ensure that the bandana is not worn too low on your forehead so that it obscures your vision.
