Vermont Castings grills come in a wide variety of styles manufactured in materials such as porcelain-coated cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum. Given this variety, any Vermont Castings grill typically requires only a brass brush and a few cleaning supplies found in most kitchens to get it clean.
Things You'll Need
- Brass brush
- Lint-free microfiber cloths
- Mild detergent
- Non-abrasive scrubbing pads
Turn up the temperature on your Vermont Castings grill after you’ve cooked and removed your food. Close the lid and wait at least five minutes. Turn off the grill.
Scrub the interior of the lid and the porcelain-coated cooking grids lightly with a brass brush to remove burnt-on debris. Additionally, scrub the grill burner(s).
Wait for the grill to cool completely. Dislodge any debris from the burner ports with the end of a paperclip and wipe away the particles with a damp cloth.
Wash the grids with hot, soapy microfiber cloths. If any remaining debris won’t come off the grids, scrub gently with a soapy non-abrasive scrubbing pad to dislodge it. When finished, rinse the grids with hot water and wipe dry.
Clean the rest of the grilling surfaces, coated parts or accessories that collect grease like a grease tray. Clean these with hot water and soap. Rinse with hot water and wipe dry.
